I Have A Dream
"For me, the '80s were the peak of electronic music creativity. I was inspired to have a go myself, purchasing a Yamaha DX21—one of the DX7’s siblings—along with 4-track software, a 4-way MIDI DIN adapter, and a limited budget to boot. It’s no surprise I soon gave up, trying to record to a single-track cassette deck!
Fast forward to 2020—dare I mention the dreaded COVID pandemic? It was a strange time for everyone in one way or another. With many unable to work and, sadly, many losing loved ones, I found myself with too much time on my hands. I decided to take the plunge once again with the Arturia Keystep and Ableton Live DAW for starters. I don’t regret the steep learning curve required to reap the benefits of 'adventures in modern recording' — sorry, couldn't help it for those old enough to remember Trevor Horn! 😃 and his influence on pop and electronic music in the 1980s.
On a serious note: while it’s not about 'making it big,' it is about enjoying the creative process of making music that I love and can be proud of—with the added satisfaction of taking you, the listener, along for the ride." 👍
